When you join
the
Sonoma Diet online, you will gain access to the full Sonoma diet
menu. You can view a sample daily menu when you visit the website.
For example, you can have whole grain cereal with milk for breakfast,
and wild rice salad with chicken and carrots for lunch. Enjoy pork
chops with rosemary, Brussels sprouts, whole grain bread and a fruit
for dinner. For dessert, have a piece of apple-blueberry tart and
before you go to bed, you can have a snack of whole grain pita bread
with cucumber yogurt sauce.
You may be shocked to see that this is a typical menu for the
Sonoma
diet. The diet is based on healthy foods and in healthy portions.
You cannot load up your plate. For example, you can't eat as many
pork chops as you wish. The premise behind this diet plan is
carefully controlled portions. For each meal, you will learn what
size of plate to use and get detailed instructions on how to load
the food onto the plate.
The foods included in the menus for the
Sonoma diet are based on the
diets and culture of the Mediterranean and combined with foods from
Sonoma, California - hence the name of the diet. In fact, this diet
builds on the menus you will find in the Mediterranean diet and just
adds more foods to them. You will find the first stage of the diet
very restrictive, but even this stage includes delicious recipes for
food. You don't have to buy any prepackaged foods nor do you county
calories. If you follow the menus (of course you can change them
around) and use the recommended meal portions, you won't have any
difficulty losing weight. The diet uses ten power foods, which are
whole grains, tomatoes, almonds, bell peppers, blueberries,
strawberries, grapes, olive oil, broccoli and spinach. If you like
all of these, or even most of them, you will do well on this diet.
